Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist as well as a businesswoman. Arianna Huffington is an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She is also the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated from Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first person non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna's celebrity status began in 2003, when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be the "most influential women" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was an expert in management and a journalist. Although she had a close relationship with both of her parents, it was their bond that helped shape her. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the first woman to hold the position of president. Also, she appeared on an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
