Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a popular public speaker. Feminist Frequency is a site which hosts video and commentary looking at the portrayals of gender roles in pop media and popular. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency explores how women are represented in popular culture. The challenge of destroying stereotypes regarding women is the main goals of her work. But, she also explores the issue of specific harassment of women on the internet and other minorities which are excluded. Sarkeesian, who holds a Master's in the field of Social and Political Thinking from York University, is a sought after public speaking. She has delivered speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Since her early years she was intrigued by issues of gender identity and feminist thought. While still at school in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency website. The determined lady had planned to start a web-based series on gender representation in video games. She was the subject of a harassment online campaign. However the attack could not deter her instead it made her more determined as a feminist media critic. Many awards have been presented to her for all of the contribution she has contributed to. Anita Sarkeesian, a media journalist who has received several awards and founded Feminist Frequency which is an educational non-profit that examines the way women are depicted in media narratives.
